Adam awoke on a cold sweat and sat up with a jolt in his bed.

His heart going at 100BPM. Of course, he knew that, after checking the Fitbit he used to keep track of his sleep patterns. It was midnight.

He brushed his fingers through his hair anxiously, staring into the darkness of his bedroom, paranoid of seeing the shadows his brain tormented him with when he was frightened. He breathed in fast short breaths, causing his heart to continue pounding at fast rates.

It was the reoccurring dream of him killing a girl he didn't know, and never recalled seeing. In his dream, she was his girlfriend, at least that's what it looked like. They kissed, he suddenly got mad about something random, and he took her life. The dream took so much energy from him, he awoke with a start every night he had it, which this was now the 5th night in a row.
