In a Clan where the weak are forced into medicine cats, the talented become hunters, the strong are fighters, and the injured/crippled are sentenced to execution, four kits are born with the hope that they will shape the Clan's destiny, and put an end to their leader's treachery.
Cloverkit, the she-cat who takes a liking to the ways of medicine and herbs, yet is forced to become a fighter.
Hailkit, the tom who wants nothing more than to be a true asset by participating in battles and defending his Clan with his life, forced to be a medicine cat because of his weak build.
Silverkit, the shy and quiet she-cat training to be a fighter who has no friends and is pushed around, bullied all the time. Rosestar takes a liking to her, determined to win this cat over so she can be on her side, and eventually become the Clan deputy.
Mistkit, the she-cat training to be a hunter yet makes a foolish mistake, one of which could change her life forever - possibly end it.
These cats were chosen by StarClan in the hopes that they would end Rosestar's reign once and for all and save MapleClan from doom. But with the hardships they face, will they make it through? Will they be able to work together to save their home from destruction in the claws of their long term enemy?
