Tika lives in Nufros along with all her friends, but she's different.  She's a mannatier.  Mannatiers are unwelcome in Nufros, seeing as they come from beyond the border.  She has to struggle against oppression and ridicule for her race.  Not only are there personal struggles and inner demons Tika has to face, but she is torn between two worlds.  There's something not right,  something big is brewing in Nufros.
