Prince Zairo is in love with battle. He will do anything to be the head of the military when he gets older, but it doesn't seem to be within his grasp.  This desire is overcome with the need for revenge. Alazar, his older brother, kills his best friend, and it's worse when Zairo learns that his brother is to receive the crown he always longed for. But something else strange has been happening to the prince. His family stops noticing him, and he can suddenly move quicker than a hummingbird. And shouldn't he be dead after falling from the castle's roof?  All this is cast aside when Victura is attacked by their mortal enemies: the creatures of the Kingdom of the Dark Realm. Few people actually know what the creatures are, but the two brothers are about to find out.
