However, you found the boy a little bit harder to be near. It wasn't until the training center you realized that you had some competition. Once in the games, it's a matter of sticking with the careers, even if it's only for Marvel. But what happens when the one mutual friend from the group dies, and you have to figure out if you stay with the group or not? What happens when your biggest rival has a sweet spot for you? Zoe Hales is basically your average teenage girl, the main difference is that she doesn't have a social life, and she has the most annoying, dirtiest, yet coolest older brother. She has recently moved cities, due to her moms job, and has to start in a new high school, which is pretty scary. Prostitute-vampires, hot Greek-god jocks, and some way cool nerds are part of the cast in this crazy story. She is also classified as a nerd since she takes AP classes, but her cup size might make up for that. This story might be a cliche, but I can promise it'll be a good one... Or not at all. This story is marked as completed, however I just put it that way bc i'm not deleting it but i'm also not completing it. Ever. So yeah, if u choose to proceed from this point, go at ur own risk!

When Kira Blackwood's name is reaped, she knows she's screwed. How is she supposed to survive in a fight to death with twenty-three other tributes, all of whom want to get out alive as much as she does? Not to mention, the thought of killing somebody twists her stomach into all sorts of unnatural shapes. Despite secretly training for the Games in the cow pastures surrounding her home, and being pretty handy with a knife, Kira's kind heart may be the thing that holds her back the most. However, as she navigates through the opulent world of the Capitol, and then the arena itself, Kira starts to realize that maybe, just maybe, it's not the dead she should pity, but the Victor. After all, no one ever really wins the Hunger Games. Survives, sure. But wins? Never. ~~+~~ Please Note: This is set in a world where the 2nd Rebellion failed. All usurpers were executed (except those pesky star-crossed lovers, who knows where they ran off to), District 13 was destroyed for good (but District 12 was rebuilt, on the basis that the Capitol realized that it actually really needed coal), and the Hunger Games were reinstated.
