"I still don't get. Why did you do it?" Ratchet turned his helm from the computer screen to his old mentor. Said mentor was looking through the Autobot's microscope, preparing for an experiment.
"Do what?" (Y/n) asked gruffly, not moving from his post.
"You know what." The Autobot stated in slight annoyance. Body now somehow facing (Y/n)'s direction. "The short distance pod you shoved me in."
This caused the older bot to stiffen. He hesitated with giving an answer. It should've been obvious as he did tell Ratchet at the time.
"To protect you." (Y/n) spoke carefully. His optics didn't leave the scientific device. He didn't want Ratchet to find the full reason in the older bot's eyes.
"Protect me...?" Ratchet softly repeated in a low murmur.

Irreplaceable you || TFP Ratchet x Femme reader
(A TFP Ratchet x femme reader fanfiction) A love they thought could never be broken. A love they both had since young bots in that small medical class so long ago back on Cybertron. ...A love that abruptly and unwillingly paused for them both. Ratchet felt that sharp pain every day since she offlined hit him deep in the spark, making it almost impossible to breathe. Yet he pushed through, for her. She was gone, and the sparkbond they shared was the only thing that kept him connected to her even though it caused him so much mental and physical pain. Until he impulsively cut it off one day, as his mental health couldn't take the memories that came back to keep him grieving every single day. It hurt him to finally say goodbye, but he needs to let her go so she can Rest in Peace. The bond was erased as Ratchet felt the pain slowly deteriorate away, leaving a forever empty hole in his spark as his lubricated tears leaked down the sides of his cheekplates. It doesn't help that soon into the future, Ratchet will realize just how big of a mistake he made when his supposed offlined sparkmate comes back into his life. Having erased the sparkbond while his lover was in deep stasis, she couldn't file the bond and so her one true love was erased from her processor in an instant. Left with regret for his selfish decisions, Ratchet has one adjective: Make her fall in love with him all over again. After all, there's always an alternative to a negative. - "Irreplaceable...irreplaceable you." Ratchet muttered through his gargled speech, wiping his optics for the millionth time that night. The medbay was silent throughout the still night. It always was. But he knew if she was here she'd be so vividly loud with just her smile it was enough to paint the walls with such euphoria. Fire Flare one of the crew member talks to Elita One that died on Cybertron. Elita One says Team Prime needs help and show Fire Flare the coordinates to the city that Team Prime base is close to. What Fire Flare does not know is by going to help Team Prime will change her life forever. After the death of Cliffjumper, the autobots were dealt quite the blow, both emotionally and in their numbers. On top of that air superiority is still in the decepticons favor which is still a big problem for the Autobots. But the day after the Autobots try to rescue Cliffjumper; only to find him as an undead terrorcon zombie, Ratchet picks up an autobot signal, but is perplexed to see that it is airborne. Most believe it's a trap, but Optimus believes that it is still worth investigating. As they try to do so the decepticons also pick up the signal. But the signal originator aids the Autobots in driving off the decepticons in his green cargo plane mode resembling a modified Antonov An-225. After the decepticons are dealt with, the jet hovers in front of the Autobots and then transforms into a bot that is nearly equal in height to Optimus himself. Once transformed Optimus immediately recognized who this bot was... his second in command, Jetfire. (A/N: Yes I am using the Transformers Cybertron Jetfire for this fanfic. And he will have his cyberkey power but it will be explained differently in the story.)
