A side story besides Asta getting his grimoire in a weird manner  Solomon who's a little like Asta do to a ring obtains two out of  the sky from a bolt of black  lightning and a girl named Sakai who's both his companion/ bodyguard  and guardian watcher of the grimoires  . Each with half of a six leaf Clover that are normal individually with separate  spells  in them some of them  complement one another in them both ex fire & Ice  etc.
