Terrance Erolds was just a seven year old living in Richland, Georgia, enjoying his life in the year of 1943.  When Terrance wakes up in the fairgrounds, and finds his family broken apart, he tries to communicate with them.  What surprises him the most is when he can't be heard by his brother.  What happened?

This short story was an assignment in my Creative Writing class, and was based on The Lottery by Shirley Jackson.
