Chamber of Secrets
Harry and Ron missed the sorting in their 2nd year as Dobby had sealed the barrier to platform 9 3/4 attempting to keep Harry away. As a result he and Ron flew the Weasley's enchanted Ford Anglia to Hogwarts. Luckily for them(and us) McGonagall decided not to expel them!
Prisoner of Azkaban
Harry also missed the sorting in his 3rd year, as a dementor searched his train compartment for Sirius Black. This caused him to pass out and be escorted to the hospital wing upon his arrival.
Half-Blood Prince
Harry misses the sorting this year because of Malfoy casting petrificus-totalus, breaking his nose, then leaving him on the train. At least Luna found him!
Deathly Hallows
Harry does not attend Hogwarts this year, and because of the death-eaters take over, it was unclear if there was a sorting!
