In a plane without humans, the world is at war. Six clans with two sides war against each other for years with reasons lost to time. The casualties continue to line up as they reap whatever they sow for each other. But there is one race that even all six scorn. The Outsiders, a clan of outcasts that were born with two bloodlines forging through there veins. Maroon, an Outsider with both Fire and Shadow in his veins, prefers not to get himself involved with this. However, gifted with the power of clairvoyance, he will soon find himself swept up in the hurricane. Many influences press onto him for his power and their control over him. Will he save those he has sworn to protect? Or will he grow corrupted and harm those whom he had loved?

Vortex never wanted to be part of anything. A hybrid born from IceWing and NightWing blood, he's spent his life on the edges of the world-silent, unseen, unstoppable. A ghost among dragons, a shadow no one notices. Or so he thought. Now, they all see him. The Dragonets of Destiny. The lost princesses and exiled heirs. Queens and assassins, seers and soldiers. Everywhere he turns, another dragon is watching, whispering, wanting. Their gazes burn like fire, their words drip like honey, their claws tighten like chains. Some want to own him. Some want to protect him. Some want to break him apart and piece him back together into something that belongs to them. But Vortex is no one's prize. As obsession coils around him like a serpent, as alliances shatter and kingdoms tremble, he must decide-will he run from the dragons who would kill for him, or will he become something even they should fear? Because if they won't let him go... he'll make them wish they had.
