Eddie Kaspbrak is a 15 year old boy who lives in Louisiana and has a disability called tourette's. It makes him emit noises, words, and do things beyond his control. He has a hard time explaining to people his syndrome .
Richie Tozier is 16, also living in Louisiana, and he has been recently diagnosed with depression. His friends become distant and his mom grows worried, so she pressures him to join a local support group.
The two boys meet and face rough paths full of sadness and laughter, pain and confusion.

Eddie Kaspbrak is the finest of Derry High. Straight A student and the perfect example to everyone of the ideal person to be. Eddie has his whole life planned ahead of him. Specific moves that are intricately structured with the perfect opportunities to lead him to the top. Eddie is the fucking poster boy of perfection. But unfortunately, nobody is perfect. And when a certain someone threatens the spot on top that Eddie has reserved for himself, the ugly side of him unleashes, and things get... messy. Let's just say that Eddie Kaspbrak would do anything for his reputation. And that includes befriending a complete moron, despite it's challenges. And it's challenges... are a fucking lot. But he's willing to get his hands dirty for the deed. As they all say, keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. Or, alternatively: Eddie Kaspbrak is a know it all, and believes he has battled heroically through all the high school classes he needs to ace in order to succeed in life and to know what he's doing all throughout.
