A small beggar boy, the most powerful mage in a millennium. A wise cracking baby owl of death. An academy filled with the next rulers of the world and a war in Gaul about to start. You might say trouble is brewing.

Rome wasn't built in a day, or so we say. But what if it was, what if powerful forces were at work, and they carried on playing their part throughout its history? Magic, monsters and people who could control them. Power is a game played out with monstrous pieces all across the ancient world and at its very heart was Rome.

Despite its power and influence, the city has fallen on hard times, with wars raging across the northern lands, most men have been levied into the legions but it still isn't enough to achieve the total victory the senate want.

When Iatus is pulled off the streets and put to the mage's test he knows he's probably going to die. But when he survives his encounter with a powerful demon, he starts down the path of war, murder and the endless pursuit of power.

Shunogai-A Story About Power, Chaos, and Four People Who Have No Business Surviving This Long. In a multiverse on the verge of collapse, where reality itself is glitching out like a laggy video game, four misfits ( besides one. ) somehow manage to not die...most of the time. Meet the Squad: • Shukan Ashikaga - The reluctant leader with chronal daggers, a tragic backstory™, and a talent for pissing off cosmic entities. Grins through the pain. Probably running on zero sleep. • Yurei - Red-haired ice queen with a missing arm that was perfectly replaced with ice. Always looks one inconvenience away from snapping. • Chronos - The walking doomsday clock who sees past, present, and future but still gets annoyed when people make dumb decisions. Stoic, but judges you silently. • Aetheron - A radiant, winged Shunogai who looks like a divine being but has the personality of a guy who would ask, "What if we ran off into the sunset in the collapsing void?" The Plot (Kinda): • The Void? Eating existence. • The Creators? Too busy flexing to help. • The Multiverse? Falling apart faster than your sleep schedule. • The Squad? Underpaid, overwhelmed, and somehow humanity's last hope. Join these absolute disasters as they fight against cosmic horrors, egomaniacal gods, and their own questionable decision-making. Expect time-breaking sword fights, ice-cold finishers, mind-melting reality shifts, and banter that would make even a divine being sigh. Shunogai: Because "godlike power" doesn't mean you know what you're doing.

Monsters Are Created By Other Monsters. Sou & Isabelle, A set of eccentric and unhinged twins with erratic elemental powers has to set aside their differences, control their evergrowing power and win a war in order to protect the only place they call home their academy and other gifted people from being hunted by the beast. - What you're about to read doesn't matter because a sinister force lurks beyond the great graveyard that protects the institution of, for and by the gifted! The first thing you need to understand about this story is it stems from a place of really deep mistrust and an unforgivable betrayal. That's an angry theme. But that all of that changes when we realise there's a lot more to this ever-expanding story! If there are Witches in this universe then obviously there are Witch hunters to just finish them off. There's a rich history or a back story where almost 20 years ago the hunters gathered and removed all existence of witches with elemental magic (Controlling Earth, Fire, Water, Air & Spirit ) but only two survived. That's when the book jumps in to follow the path of those survivors. Um, there are factions of offensive(Elementals) and defensive covens(Guardians) and then there's the elements of epic love, love that consumes the people involved and of course what's love without a little danger. - Thank you so much if you've read this far. I deeply urge you to binge read the book and decide for yourself whether it's unputdownable or not. Thank you so much by the way dear reader. By reading this book you are supporting a plus-sized lgbtqiaap+ community model/writer who has seen nothing but struggle and blatant discrimination everywhere.

**My debut novel is available for pre-order with all major online retailers from 11/03/2019** This is just the first five chapters, which are also available on my website: www.bmmatsen.com Two days before the start of senior year, Emma Duvall is attacked by creatures that hunt from the shadows. A hidden world that exists within her own, explodes around her as she is faced with menacing creatures of the deep, ugly venomous creatures with voices so beautiful they bring humans to their knees, and a wicked beast with eyes the color of blood. When she touches them, their dark powers flow into her, awakening a hunger in her that had laid dormant for seventeen years. The darkness is seductive when it deals in rage. And rage is exactly what she needs to survive. Not only must she keep her powers a secret, she must also contend with the new boy in school. He is both dangerous and unnaturally handsome, drawing her in like a magnet. What she can't explain is why being close to him causes her physical pain. And those that hunt the monsters of the night-the Giborim-sworn to protect the humans, find that Emma may be just as monstrous. Except the striking, centuries-old, Blaze, who seeks revenge for the mother and sister he lost. Emma will do anything to impress him and earn his trust. Including using herself as bait to ensnare the final piece of Blaze's vengeance. War between the two races is looming on the horizon as the wicked creatures of nightmares seek to enslave humankind. When Emma is thrown in the middle as the ultimate weapon, she must allow herself to be wielded...just long enough to save the world. For when the raging fires of her wrath are unleashed, the world with be painted in the ashes of her enemies.

In an alternate timeline, the human race found a way to create superpowers. By extracting energy from stars and inserting that energy into humans, 'powers' were created. Powers allowed humans to gain unnatural abilities such as flight, invisibility, super strength or in other words, superpowers. Of course, with the introduction of something so revolutionary, people rose up in the hundreds of thousands in an event known as the Great Rebellion. The insurgents banded together under a single banner and became collectively known as the Shadow, marking the beginning of the Cosmic Wars. Out of the darkness, the Gazers were born. Using what remained of the power technology, the Gazers singlehandedly perished the evil and ended the conflict. However, there was a price to pay. Powers put a toll on the human body and had serious mental and physical repercussions. The solution was to recruit children from the age of 13 to 18 and train them so their bodies would adapt to their powers, eventually becoming immune to all negative side effects. The end of the Cosmic Wars brought forth a new age of peace and prosperity that the world had never seen before. However, the long reign of the Gazers has already begun to crumble, cracks showing up within the very thread of society. Their rule will not last for much longer. The Shadow will rise once again. Or in other words, my unintentional and accidental ripoff of My Hero Academia :/ Blurb is a work in progress
