"Okay, so we are going to have some house rules," I announced.
Zion sighed. Did he expect us to not have them or what?
"You guys already kidnapped me. What else do you want?!" Woah, I didn't expect that unanticipated change of attitude.
"We want you to be a good kidnapee," I simply replied.
Zion glowers at me. "I thought you didn't believe that word existed."
"It does in my language," was my sassy response.
"No, Callie. Just no, it's too cringey," Valorie shared her unnecessary opinion.
I looked at Valorie and note, "You're not helping."
"Okay, so what are the rules?" Zion changed the topic to a more mature one.
"1. No escaping, obviously," I took a deep breath. I don't know why this is making me feel so stressed. Probably because you are kidnapping someone, idiot.
"2. No cell phones, nor landline. Especially when you try to call the police." Valorie left his phone in the alleyway, so that can't make us get caught. She used gives when she did that, so they won't find forensic evidence.
"3. No damaging the home."
"4. If we are going out, you have to wear the old lady disguise and you must have both of us watching you," Valorie stifles a laugh and Zion just nods.
"5. No going out, unless we say so."
"6. You sleep on the couch. The absence of your whining may give you guest room privileges for the weekend." The formal tone in my voice was so not me.
"7. No killing, unless you annoy me enough to do so," I joked. Zion widened his eyes, but Valorie rolling her eyes seemed to calm him down.
"8.No weirdness."
"9. No whining."
"10. No romance." I just felt like I needed to say that, just in case. I'm sure it's not going to happen. Valorie is already in love with Ollie and my realist self won't let me fall for the rich boy I kidnapped. I just wanted to make the rule, so it doesn't turn out like the weird romance novels mom used to read.
"Okay, agreed. I guess.."
