Monsters are meant to frighten us. There are monsters in the physical sense, with glowing eyes and a silent, mysterious attitude. Then there are the ones that are truly terrifying. The ones made up of your past. The ones people set loose on you and you have to learn to shake off. And the ones that were there before we were even born. In most cases, you won't even realize that you have a monster on your back until it's too late.
Here is a collection of vignettes inspired by the word "Monster" composed for a high school creative writing activity, but no one had the opportunity to read them. I hope these monsters can find a home here.

Love and Madness: a demon's desire
(y/n) was an (age) years old, who had a decent life and an loving family, however a tragic incident took their family from them. After years of fighting to get their life back on track, things finally looked like they were turning around. But only to get struck by tragedy again, and they ended up stuck in an endless realm of limbo. A sin committed before death of a heroic act, now awaiting judgment. You meet a woman who says they can change your fate. You are more eager to take the deal without knowing what you're getting into, only to fix past mistakes. But as soon as you realize that, not only do you need to gather other dead souls and survive against nightmarish monsters. You must also escape from a powerful demon that has developed an unhealthy obsession over you. Will you be able to escape and succeed or will you be forever trapped in this nightmare for all eternity.

H x The main theme of this book is the macabre and horror. Some of the poems are inspired by horror movies that carry an age 15 rating. There are also some poems touching upon anxiety issues. If you feel you would be upset by reading anything of this nature, then I would advise that this collection may not be for you. Although, for others, it may be of interest, to see another persons experience of this. I will leave the choice up to you.
