A civilization of engineered life have been forged from the living flame deep within the Volcano Art'at. Most of the beings who created them are long gone, and their created life forms have split into factions. The under-dwellers live at peace, replicating their makers by forming families and continuing to forge the next generation of their kind. But on the surface a war is raging, ravaging the resources of the planet and depleting it's core. Young Syber wishes to leave the peace of the underworld and join in the war, despite his mother's fears.
