I had no parents, Peter's were drunk when they had him, so he was abandoned. Since I had no suitor, the law said that I would have to either be sent off to some other town for a suitor, or, if I was, and I quote, "lucky enough," I could marry the prince. After 3 years of pretending to be a couple, someone figures out that Peter and I aren't a thing. Peter starts hiding secrets from me, then, once I'm in danger, he disappears.
