I wrote this poem as an assignment for my ENC 1102 Written Communications course back in early November. The assignment was to create a short poem or story based on the season of Thanksgiving. We had about thirty minutes to complete the assignment, and this was my end result.

"How I Fell In Love With Autumn" represents the harshness that often comes within this time of year. Although Thanksgiving is a great season of giving, for many, it is not. Not everyone is fortunate as others to possess family members who are endearing; at least in the situation of this particular narrator. 

This poem is about finding beauty in the enthralling season of fall; how even in some of the most barbarous times, one may still find beauty in the world and learn to love it.All Rights Reserved
