Being neglected at such a young age definitely leaves a scarring effect on you, so to say the least pain was all he knew. What happens when the two fall in love? Will it help them escape or chain them down even further? He's no prince charming and she's no cinderella, so trust me when I tell you this is going to be a really fucked up love story.
