Christmas is coming, and that means everyone is reuniting for the season. It's been about a month since Cynthia's mother's mysterious death, and she's been living with her aunt (and her gender fluid cousin, Senakah). Mitsuri has begun to attend seventh grade, and is immediately cornered by Allison, a chocolate-loving girl who also has the ability to converse with dead souls of any kind. Evan is struggling to keep up with everything and doesn't trust the new faces, and how much they seem to know about what happened last month. All five are masking two nagging questions with feigned excitement for the season. Those being how did Cynthia's mother really die, and is everyone else in danger? Also, why is Senakah suspicious of Allison, especially when she complains of constant cold and ice forming on surfaces in her house?

She wore a small jacket over it, and its color was white with a wolf logo on it, and 'The Winter Wolfen' along it. The wolf logo was black, which matched her wolf hairpin. This story is not getting the attention it deserves, so I am attempting to "re-brand" it. Maybe no one "gets" it. If you want to read about "Normal" teenagers, maybe this isn't for you, it's more complicated than that. It's about a teenager who doesn't fit it, but doesn't want to, who has the best two friends that anyone could have. Who watched his father lose his job in the Recession and then loses his home, and how he copes, especially when he learns that their new house is haunted and the ghost is in his room. Michael was an average kid, although he's always stood out. He was a school jock but also a skater whose long blond hair almost reaches his waist. When his parents lived in a house in a home owners association like all his other friends, life seemed normal. Then his father lost his job and suddenly those "friends" weren't there anymore--except for his two best friends, Short Round and Dewey. The three are skaters, good ones, who live for girls and their skateboards. They're also basically good kids who take pride in being different without paying attention to it. When Michael loses his home and his family has to move they have his back. And they are there for him when the ghost girl starts following him around. Mariah was murdered when she was just 15, her remains were never found, although no one but her and her ghost friend, Crazy Girl, know where their bodies are buried. The house Michael now lives in is the one where she lived with her family, and her old room is now his. She appears to him one night, trying to taunt him, but against her will she is falling in love with the boy who lives in her old room. Slowly the two begin to fall in love and Mariah tells him her story, and of the hidden danger that lies up the street from him.
