Youkai= (Yōkai) are a class of supernatural monsters, spirits and demons in Japanese folklore. The word yōkai is made up of the kanji for "bewitching; attractive; calamity"; and "spectre; apparition; mystery; suspicious" On the outskirts of Japan, Youkai town is a small town who houses an expanding population of Youkais for as long as the middle Ages. Protected underneath a barrier from the outside world; as a result, not a single human has ever stepped into the small village before. Until now But it mattered little for Natsume Akira. A Kitsune who moved to Youkai Town right after a horrifying experience within the human world. Now what was ahead of him was getting through high school peacefully with his two friends Ren and Kuro. But what if a human girl, a familiar face he never wanted to see, not only transfers different schools but tries to intermingle back into his life? To add on more problems everyone around were a little more curious of her nature because of such a rare occurance. Will Akira continue to live his peaceful life but ignores the obvious signs of danger? Or will he throw everything away just for her?

Taryn Lowell has been dealing with one horrible thing after another while still coping with the sudden death of her brother. The story of a Priestess who sacrificed herself to many demons protecting her village by binding herself in ropes soaked in her blood. While rumours of a demon that is said to resemble a man or a woman who will whisk unsuspecting travellers away in the dead of night if they wander into the forest, all while looking like a living doll... Such stories and rumours are often truths distorted through countless years being passed from word of mouth, yet how much remains true while the rest becomes fiction? Or were such things even fiction to begin with?
