My name is Maxx Walters and I'm the biggest nerd on the planet. I'm obsessed with Superman, I wear the stereotypical "nerd" glasses, and I'm gay. And when I end up falling for the biggest player in school, my life becomes even more of a roller coaster of ups and downs than it already is.
I haven't come out of the closet to anyone, and when I go to a party and play seven minutes in heaven, Joshua is picked to go in the closet with me. Why, oh why, does my life have to be so complicated?

I couldn't see him, as it was pitch black in the closet. I could practically hear my nervous breath as I sat against a wall, holding my knees to my chest. I could feel how wide my eyes were. I mean, I was sitting here in the closet with the boy of my dreams, and all I could do was sit there.
"Hi," Josh said.
I couldn't reply. My breath caught in my throat and I tried to speak. "I-I . . ." My voice came out scratch and nervous. "I . . . I'm . . . Maxx." I'm Maxx? He knows your name, you idiot.
Josh chuckled. "I know." Suddenly a pair of lips pushed against mine and I gasped.
