Driven to Distraction
Alex Thompson was due to marry her high school sweet heart Eric Ramirez. Period. That's it. It's about as exciting as her life ever got really. She had a job, a good job but an unconscious reality was that she was bored. She had her back blown out once every three months, if that, and an overbearing mother who made her life hell. *enter Mitch* Eve 'Mitch' Mitchell. An outgoing, strong minded, independent, raging homosexual, lover to all, charming British soul. They meet by accident after a tough day at the office for Alex. A mistaken identity was all it took for a tiny little kiss. A moment blown all out of proportion for the Christian-bred Miss Thompson and her life turns more miserable than she anticipated for every time she turned around...Mitch was there behind her. Something about Mitch was new and fresh and her soul was just what Alex needed (little did she know). Secrets from the past are brought to the surface. A sad ending to a young lady's life. A realisation that family isn't always blood related. Alcohol isn't a medicine. Violence isn't a key. Hearts were never meant to be broken. Two things to take away: you never know what is going on in someone's head and the most important thing...you never know what happens behind closed doors. A/N just a random story about two people who meet accidentally. Plays with gender norms and very inclusive of LGBTQ (being a member myself). Could be triggering I'm not sure as some identity questions are thrown around. It does include smoking, drinking, some homophobia, profanities, violence and smut. 'Don't you want to just let go and be yourself?' My voice is barely a whisper, but I know he hears me. His body shudders as my fingertips brush his cheek, and blood rushes in my ears as he smiles. 'Only if it's with you.' Things have changed in the last hundred years; where the United States was once a country that embodied freedom, it's become a restrictive and manipulative nation. There's no religion. There's no free speech. And most of all, there's no right to love who you want. In the new American Republic, being gay is a crime punishable by death. But those rules don't stop anyone from fucking around; especially Rhydian and his four best friends. There's only one huge problem: Rhydian's the heir to the largest corporation in America, and his friends are all in similar positions. If the successors are killed for being homosexuals, the companies will fail. So, when a new way to change your sexuality is showcased at an underground convention, the five boys are sent to be the test subjects for the Hetero Project. What they don't count on is the romance that they'll find along the way. But what once seemed like an innocent experiment is a far more sinister plan to destroy all that's left of the American Republic's freedoms, and Rhydian and his friends are the only ones who can stop them. But when it comes down to love and freedom, is there really a choice?

The town wasn't on a single map, so I guess my handlers thought it was the perfect place to hide. Everything goes unnoticed there, but that was until I learned the town's hidden secret. It wasn't on the map because it was built for the witness protection. This gave a whole new meaning to hiding in plain sight. I'm not the only one being hunted down. The government decided to round us all up and place us together. It almost seems like they wanted a bright red target on our heads. Now it is easier to be found. I know he's coming for me, but the question remains. Who will he bring with him? What happens when the town where everyone's hiding is found by their worst nightmares? ***** This book is selected as mature because of the violence depicted and the language used. Although it does depict much blood, it isn't overly described. If at any point, the graphics are too much, stop reading and message me about it. This novel does have spelling and grammar mistakes. This story is the first book I have ever uploaded to this site, and for those of you brave enough to read it, I applaud you. It really is horrible, like seriously bad.
