It has been said that "Well behaved women seldom make history." In the case of Charlotte Brunswick, this could not be more true of a statement. After running away from her abusive and neglectful household, she survives on her own the only way she can: By pretending to be a boy. No one ever questions a boy's capabilities. A boy can be employed anywhere, doing anything, no questions asked, and while Charlotte is every bit as strong and capable as a boy...no one will allow her a chance to prove that unless she poses as one. Though with the revelation of her secret comes its own complications; namely the feelings of betayal that will inevitably be felt by her best friend Gilbert...along with the romantic feelings she's always harbored for him. The entire situation is unorthodox, and not something that a well-behaved young lady should be involved in. But as the saying goes..
