When the ever-so-popular Axel Tanner accidentally knocked down her best friend's stack of neatly organized books, merely picking it up from the floor and placing it on her desk, the easily-infatuated Nova Price found herself instantly falling for him after seeing how he was not as much of a jerk as she initially thought he was. But it was not like she rarely had crushes, the infatuation would disappear as simply as how ice melts under the sun.
However, what was unusual with her feelings this time was that instead of dissolving as time passes, it only grew deeper and deeper till she could stand it no more. And this time, even she could not understand what was happening to her. Was it the toxic feeling of love that develops like the roots of a small seed, slowly growing to become a full-grown tree if showered with what it needed? And will the tree end up with a sea of green, or will it slowly die with thin, empty branches?
Axel Tanner is not the "popular bad boy" of the town that every girl wants to be with, but close enough to it. As Ace King's best friend, he attracted as much attention as the King himself. However, he is apparently not aware of it, and his ignorance to the social ladder is one of the many reasons Nova is drawn to him like moths to flames.
