An American woman, Cassandra, is an aid worker in Iraq at the end of 2003. Her earnest anti-war stance has led her to accept the job of organizing elections in the supposedly post-conflict country. As if MASH were re-written for current times and placed in the Middle East, this comedy/drama brings out the absurdities and hypocrisies of war, foreign policy, and the mercenary world of aid. Every expat that worked in Iraq knows the legend of Baghdad Beautiful. When a RAF flight was about to touch down in the UK after returning from Iraq, the pilot announced “all you lads are just another guy with a story and all of you women are ugly again.” Hence, the birth of Baghdad Beautiful. All Rights Reserved
