Love never made sense, but it never had to either. Toby would do anything to get rid of his entirely embarrassing crush, but he isn't sure how. They are trapped in a never-ending play, acting out the same roles over and over in the vague hopes that somehow, someday it will end. But it doesn't. So they deviate from the script, attempt to fulfill the purpose that brought them to the mountain in the first place in a last attempt to break free from the resets. It doesn't work. (But suicide is a pretty memorable thing, and emotions may just be a little bit stronger than memories. Especially to the person who finds their dead body.) This is a story I wrote in 2016 when I was in a mental health clinic dealing with my own depression and suicidal thoughts. Viewer discretion is advised.
