* first I just want to say this is a fictional story, but some of the events that are written, are based off of my life. So here's a peak inside my head 👻

"So how are you feeling about your first practice?" I chuckled nervously looking at my feet. "Well in all honesty, Im a nervous wreck..." It had been a whole year since I last touched a basketball, and here I was joining my junior year. "Hey don't be, I'll be here right next to you, we will fail, and be laughed at together." I smiled at my best friend, she always knew how to cheer me up. We walked through the gym doors together. I kept my head down as we made our way to the locker room. "Octavia, how nice of you to finally join us!" Coach Scott spoke up. "Yeah it's good to be back." I gave him a tight lipped smile and proceeded into the locker room. There were numerous juniors and seniors starring at me. I looked away but not before I made eye contact with one senior in particular. Madison. Something about her gaze drew me in. She looked away shortly after but I just couldn't budge. My eyes lingered over her for a few more seconds before fingers were snapped in front of my face. "Hey... Octavia you good?" I quickly looked at my feet flustered. " Yeah, I'm just a little nervous I guess..." she looked into my eyes and nodded "You'll do great, this year will be nothing like the last."
