The popular kids weren't ever, under any circumstances to date anyone lower in the high school social structure. Sam Zodiac didn't know that when he first enrolled at Little Pond High. His first day, hotshot Barry McKern, captain of the school's soccer team and one of the most popular kids in the whole school catches his eye. Sam finds himself falling in love with a popular boy who he may never have and gets trapped in what seems like an endless circle of revenge, competition, and heated battle over a forbidden love. Phillip MacAfee, Mac for his friends. Too bad Mac is a complete loner and hates people. Some serious things from his past have caused this young man to keep to himself. Most of the time, he was inviable and happy about it. That is until this year. Starting his Junior year at Moss Grove University, Mac's Art History class wasn't available online. The first day he tried to sit in the far back, but he got the professor that loves to put everyone in groups. There was no way around it. Mac ended up in a group with a foul mouth and sassy goth; a country, small town girl; a novelist; and the all-star pitcher on the baseball team. All of them shouldn't have been placed together, but now Mac can't get rid of them. Worse of all, the jock has taken an intense interest in Mac. So much that feelings developed where they shouldn't be. Can Mac lower his walls around his heart for the jock who has to come to terms with not being what society accepts?
