What if a terrible accident caused you to go blind? What if you could only hear? Noalie Evers was in a terrible car accident as a child, she recovered over time, but her eyes never did, she went blind at a young age because of someone else's mistakes. As a young child she never knew that this was a disadvantage, she just saw herself as special. On her first day of kindergarten she met a boy, Halt Denzil, a year older than her, but still in the same class. He had his own disadvantages too, but never dwelled on them. After her accident everything changed, Noalie had many friends come and go as she grew up, but Halt never left, always being her eyes. What happens when she turns 18 and is eligible for a surgery to fix her eyesight? What is the first thing she will see when she opens her eyes for the first time? Will Halt be there to guide her through life's many dangers, or will things be flipped around? Will Noalie have to help Halt through his problems?
