Food, gas, electricity and other necessities we have grown to accept in our lives, are not so easy to come by anymore. Let me be the first to Welcome you to 2035 the year we hit overpopulation. Everyone thought this was supposed to happen 15 years later. But apparently, it's not that easy to ensure. So, here's the gist of year 2035, governments in different countries went into a panic. They all started taking volunteers to commit suicide which wasn't enough. Each country then decided to block themselves off from one another. So, we now have no idea what happens outside the United States.
With this happening the government was willing to take any idea to gain control of society once again. And so, The Part-Time Act was signed and put into place. This act stated that the government pay a certain amount. To every Business that has part-time associates. In return these places will be split into 2 sections one side safe and one side danger. The safe side ensures your safety with much higher prices on food and other materials sold. As for the danger side, food and/or other materials are dirt cheap. But there's a catch. Employees on the danger side are getting a commission for every kill they make on the customers. The safe zone is making it to the cashiers.
Our story will follow Seth a young 17-year-old growing up in this time. All he wants is nothing more than to work hard and receive a normal life. But the question is can normal even exist anymore?

Chaucer, you have a wonderful opportunity here, are you going to take it or not?" Now, I am seriously confused, "Opportunity?" She takes advantage of my befuddled state and shoves the door open. Shit. The corners of her mouth pull up, and it's so unnatural, it takes me a moment to realize she's smiling. Major plastic surgery? Probably. Click. Did she just lock the door? She locked the door! I spring towards the house phone, dusty from years of doing absolutely nothing, so I can call the police. I don't make it. Halfway there, I trip on my own pant-leg and face plant on the floor. The woman steps over me and retrieves the phone. She looks at it as if it's a foreign object, "This won't be necessary. All I want to do is talk to you." For some reason, instead of screaming, I stay silent. She smiles and pulls out a chair from the kitchen table for me to sit on. When I don't sit, she says, "If you want to know what's going on, then sit." I think about it for a moment. She hasn't hurt me yet, and I have to admit, I am quite curious as to what's going on.
