You stopped when you were right in front of him, feeling the steam coming from him. The words falling from your fragile lips as you looked into his cold eyes,

"No."

You saw his eyes soften for an instant before it went back to the emotionless stare. You were standing so close to the beast. He could kill you right here right now. You were at his range. But you didn't move. You could empathize with him. He wasn't a monster. He was only born to be one. You stood there looking at the vampire, not looking away from his beautiful eyes. The vampire never moved, his fists still shaking, the whites of his knuckles showed. But he didn't do anything. 

The corner of the vampire's lips moved up to a grin, "I've killed before. You're a wolf. Aren't you?" He examined you up and down,  "You'll be a piece of cake." 

The sharp words came out but they never stung you. He was pretending to be tough. He was hiding. He was running from himself. Running from his emotions. Just like you ran. You remembered his cries. His tears.

You took a step closer, your faces inches away. 

"Then kill me."

I shed more tears as he cupped my face with his bloodied hands as my body shivers from the cold contact face slightly tainted with the previous girl's blood. he then tardily jerk my head up to make me look directly into his red bloody eyes. "Darling, being horrified already dawned on your face but why were you seemed so calm aren't you scared that I might suck your blood right here, right now?"
