Violet Stone, your typical naïve and nerdy pushover, was sick of her relatively boring life. She had always wanted a cliché, storybook perfect ending. Ryder Black, with his cliché leather jacket and black boots, has always wanted his life to slow down. Being the school's cliché bad boy, he has come to hate that word. Especially with the cliché drug dealer of a dad who's in jail and the cliché bed ridden grandmother who is his only guardian. How more cliché could his life be? But when Violet's wish come true and she ends up in the most cliché position possible, she realized how perfect her boring life was. Will Ryder leave the angel to fend for herself during the series of cliché events that is occurring in her life, or will the devil become the angle's protector?

"I'm going to kill them." "Julian!" I gasped. "You can't -- that's murder!" "I'm well aware." "You'll be a criminal." His mouth twisted. "I prefer the term 'outgoing'." "There's nothing outgoing about killing someone!" "Ambitious?" "Not that either." He frowned like he was thinking. "What, then?" "Try illegal." ------------------------------------------------- Brooke Miller moved. She moved to a new town, a stranger in a place frozen in the 80s, unified by a belief she doesn't share. Meeting Julian Jones is both a curse and a prize. Yes, he's gorgeous. Yes, he's cruel. Yes, everyone stays clear of him. But there's something about him that's not quite right, besides his inability to stop staring at Brooke. She doesn't understand him - and yet, she wants to. It isn't long before she finds out monsters own Grove Hill; monsters nobody knows about. And these monsters are desperate to capture Brooke for themselves; a phenomenon even Satan himself is after. Trusting Julian seems like the only choice. Yet, when every vamp wants something, and protection is limited, chances are they'll get it. But if it's the one thing Julian can't stand to lose, how far will he go to keep Brooke safe?
