"There are some stories that are too sad to tell.
There was once a time where fairy tales could exist. What we could call magic was real and so was the desire to control and harvest it. In a world like that, where evil and good could strive to unimaginable extremes, there had to be something to keep balance. All forbidden magic was concealed within Jewels and all history of magic was erased. Things like Genies, mermaids, fairies, dragons had once lived but can no longer be conceived as possible. The Jewels were separated and are watched over by guardians deemed fit by the jewels themselves.
Of course, power can't simply be snuffed out of existence. It simply takes a different form. Many people, good and evil will rise and fall. Races and civilizations will immerge from their bondage if given the chance.
There's more to this world then what we see.
