Evil lurks in the sinister castle of Stonygate. A king, unworthy of the throne he holds, enslaves his people and plunders their towns for warriors to add to his army. His lands are protected by his guards and the evil Sha who shroud themselves with immortality from their swords.
A young peasant girl who has lost both her father and mother struggles to keep her and her sister alive, and one day her world comes crashing down as the last person she trusts in this world lies dying in her arms. Fueled by anger, guided by a seemingly untrustworthy traitor of the king, she sets out on a journey to defeat the forces of evil that lurk closer than she could ever imagine.

"You." "Me?" I answer nervously. I held my breath as I looked into the dragons golden eyes. "I choose you." I've been waiting for this day since I can remember. Ever since I was a little girl I dreamed of one day having my own dragon. After my father's death I made it my goal to do this, to make him proud. Joining the riders squad means bonding a dragon and protecting my people. My home. All the training will lead to that moment. I just have to survive... Which is easier said than done. The only thing I have left of my father is my blue sapphire necklace which seems to come with its own type of beauty. There's deeper secrets than just fighting in our army and not everyone can be trusted. Love.. pain.. loss.. lies.. You're going to wish you messed with a different girl.
