Alexa Wills (Phoebe Tonkin) is an Australian woman who has had a troubled childhood. Her stepfather abused her, her mother did not want to know about her. She always lived alone and suffered bullying. Alexa decided to move, after turning 26, to California to study at a university.
Daniel Morgan (Daniel Gillies) is a Canadian man. Daniel is part of a peculiar family, a descendant of wolves but one day he was transformed into a vampire. So when he killed his first victim he activated the wolf curse. At the age of 32 (that was transformed) , in the year 2014 he moved to California with a new goal: to start living again. He got a job as a university professor in History. Both will meet a few times before they find out that he is their teacher and she is their student.
They fall in love with love being forbidden because besides being a hybrid it is also a teacher.
