Ancient Monster Coup D'état resides within Elliot Pearson's mind as nothing more than an increasingly cynical voice. That is, until another Monster begins to unlock Elliot's own latent monstrous disposition. Coup even goes so far as to turn on his own Creator in a futile attempt to protect Elliot from the tentatively dormant beast within his subconscious.
