Dorothy: Is a runaway slave. When she finds her childhood friend Jude they decide to work together, often clashing on whether or not to be on the rebels side or the British, the side that offers to free enslaved people when the war is over. Elizabeth: Is a middle class teenager, missing her brother who's a rebel fighting in the war and her father who was as well, but has gone missing. She's struggling to find a way for people to recognize her as a person who can talk about the war, not a delicate being. When she meets a friendly British soldier, she starts to question the different opinions. And then there's you: You are fighting in the war and missing your family. You're in love with a young nurse but at any given moment you could be torn apart. The flashbacks that you seem to have every night worry you. Written by @hamiltots and @loveschuyler

After her father and brother were killed in the failed rebellion, Cecily never imagined that things could get worse. But one night, soldiers storm her small village and show her how wrong she was. As part of their punishment for daring to rise against the king, soldiers are permitted to ransack the rebel villages, destroying or taking whatever they want, and killing or capturing whoever they want. In a split second, Cecily's world is turned upside down as she is ripped away from her family and the only life she's ever known. She has no idea where she's headed or what will happen to her once she arrives, and she's terrified of finding out. Will she even survive? Did her family survive when they tried to defend her? Will she ever see them again if they're all lucky enough to stay alive? One man will determine her fate and if he's anything like the others, Cecily is positive that will mean nothing good for her. (Companion story to Keira's Fire)
