In the castle she was forced to flee from, every part of the castle had been bathed in light. It was symbolic, really, of the country it ruled over. The night Kylo Ren was born, he destroyed half of the Jedi Knights training under Luke Skywalker. The other half he gave a tantalizing offer: join him and live, or die alongside their brethren. For many of them the choice was easy: Salvation. Over the years those who joined him died off: they tried to over throw him or showed a weakness that was exploited. All except Serena. She fell under Kylo's wing and latched on. They grew together, gained power together, fought side by side as equals, and friends. Serena was his confidant, she was the whisper in his ear. For that reason, she was even more terrorizing than Kylo Ren himself. She stayed with him despite all he had done- all that he had made her do. She knew nothing else, only him, only the First Order. Until she met the Resistance's Best Pilot, and found a way out.

Where is Ben Solo? First written immediately after Rise of Skywalker. Recently fleshed out #3- ReyxBen 10.12.20 #10- worldbetweenworlds 4.11.21 Written as a sequel to the Rise of Skywalker (the film, not my fanfiction version) and before the release of novelisation or at least here in the UK. If they were to bring Ben Solo back this is how I think they could do it.
