It's the summer of 1950, in the South of England, in the small town of Binsted. After the horrors of the Second World War, the country is beginning to recover. However, in the woodland that surrounds this particular town, something monstrous has awoken. When people start to disappear, four local boys take it upon themselves to solve the mystery. The town believes they have a serial killer on their hands, but the boys will uncover something far more ancient and far more deadly.
