Marius Pontmercy (French pronunciation: [maʁjys pɔ̃mɛʁsi]) is a fictional character, one of the protagonists of Victor Hugo's 1862 novel Les Misérables. He is a young student, and the suitor of Cosette. Believing Cosette lost to him, and determined to die, he joins the revolutionary association Friends of the ABC, which he associates with, but is not a part of, as they take part in the 1832 June Rebellion. Facing death in the fight, his life is saved by Jean Valjean, and he subsequently weds Cosette, a young woman whom Valjean had raised as his own.

Everyone who is familiar with the story of Les Miserables is familiar with the tale of Marius Pontmercy and his love Cosette. Their love story is able to cast a tiny glimmer of hope upon the tragic tale. However, what if the origins of their love had not been as bright as written down? Valjean has passed away before the young lovers had yet to lock eyes, leaving the young Cosette alone with feelings of abandonment and depression. Unable to cope with her father's passing on her own, Cosette decides to drown her sorrows in the bittersweet sensation of alcohol. One fateful night, as the pairs of eyes belonging to Marius and Cosette fell upon one another, would their hearts continue to be "full of love"? Two friends, Marius (born in 1810) and Odette (born in 1813), grew up in the life of the luxury. A cruel step-mother cut Odette out of the life her parents wanted her to grow up in, and she was forced to work in the streets from age thirteen in 1826 till 1829 when she was reunited with her best friend. Fantine is a fictional character in Victor Hugo's 1862 novel Les Misérables. She is a young orphaned grisette in Paris who becomes pregnant by a rich student. After he abandons her, she is forced to look after their child, Cosette, on her own. Originally a pretty and naïve girl, Fantine is eventually forced by circumstances to become a prostitute, selling her hair and front teeth, losing her beauty and health. The money she earns is sent to support her daughter. Fantine became an archetype of self-abnegation and devoted motherhood. Possibly due to her status as an orphan, Hugo never labels her with a surname. When Marius falls in love with Cosette, Eponine feels bad for him because she knows that the girl doesn't like him back. When Cosette sees Marius for the first time, she expects to feel something that every girl would when meeting a cute boy, but she doesn't. Then Eponine and Cosette meet. What will happen next? ~ DISCLAIMER: 1. I do not own any of the characters in this story, they all belong to Victor Hugo, I have just made different interpretations of them 2. This story will not be accurate to the real story for various reasons. To avoid spoilers, I will give two. Firstly, Eponine and Cosette are in a relationship and Cosette does not love Marius, and neither does Eponine. Secondly, the beginning of the story takes place about a year before it takes place in the musical and movie version. Marius and Cosette meet in the summer of 1831 and that is also when Cosette and Eponine fall in love. 3. After the first two chapters, the picture will not be of the character narrating the story but of the other character. For example, Chapter 3 will be from Eponine's perspective but will have a picture of Cosette. Same goes with all the chapters after Chapter 2.Completa

Have you ever wondered what would have happened if Marius realizes his true love for Eponine and is just friends with Cassette? What about if Eponine didn't die. This is my spin on Les Miserables.
