After Thomas came up the box, everything was normal.  Teresa never came up, the walls stayed closed, and Chuck never died.   When the scheduled Greenie comes up, the boys are shocked to discover a girl.  She, like everyone else, only recalls her name, Diana.  With her arrival things begin to heat up, romantically with the Gladers.  Especially with...well, I guess you are going to have to read more to find out!
There's a love triangle, plot twists, and the original story line is tweaked to make things more interesting.
