I have lived my life with people who have told me they love me but when I say it back to them I know I don't mean it ever since elementary people have talked about a string that binds you to your soul mate yet I'm in collage and still haven't found the string will I ever even get one or perhaps I was meant to never find one ?

When I was born, I wasn't born with this "Red String" everyone apparently had. It seemed to connect people, to have people's hearts never broken. Well, I'm unlucky enough to not have a string. Disbelief
Soulmates, we're always told we have one but I haven't been so sure I do. I mean I did get my tattoo and it hasn't disappeared yet, meaning they aren't dead. I guess believing in something like that takes a lot of effort. When you first touch your soulmate (Skin to skin contact) your tattoo turns a solid color. That color is the most important color in your life at the moment you touched. In this world, there's a system to tell who your soulmate is. Nobody remembers how it happened but, one day people started getting these tattoos on their right wrist. These tattoos are a basic shape that resembles your soulmate's hair. The shape is filled in completely by the color of your soulmate's hair as well. In the center of the tattoo, there are 1-5 objects. Those objects describe what your soulmate loves to do. The shape of my tattoo always fascinated me but I've never been able to put it into words. My tattoo shape is an upside-down half-circle if instead of the bottom part being flat, it opens and curves outwards. In the center of my tattoo was a volleyball, it always was a volleyball, it's never changed once. You see naturally, people tend to change hobbies, but whoever my soulmate was, they didn't change theirs, I never changed mine either which is fascinating. The color of my tattoo is a chocolaty brown. (This story is in Y/n's POV....mainly)Complete

When you turn 18 you can hear your soul mate a.k.a tap into their thoughts. And even if you've known your soul mate your entire life you won't know until the first time you see them either on or after your 18th birthday and it is like love at first sight.
