'You stupid little bitch,' his voice hoarse, words slurring slowly off his alcohol breath that gave away his position, indicating that he was close. The wooden floor creaked under his heavy boots with every step he took, but suddenly they stopped.
'Come out, come out wherever you are.' A low menacing chuckle managed to flood and vibrate the walls of the broken-down room. I pressed my lips shut to keep from crying out while slowly tilting my head to hold back the tears that blurred my vision.
The stench of his signature smell of cigarettes reeked through the only thing protecting me. He knew where I was and that's when tears began to stream down my face uncontrollably.
Silence washed over the room, filling the air with nothingness.
I couldn't take it anymore.
