"A person with a golden heart is malleable. They sometimes have to be bent a little to save and protect the ones they love."

Fourteen year old Maria Curtis had it tough. Growing up on the east side of town, she knew there was always trouble among the Greasers and the Socs, the higher class that lived on the west side. There was always a fight for power between the two unlike gangs, but there was crime, hatred, and fear that they shared. When Maria finds herself at the wrong place at the wrong time, she is forced into hiding with her twin brother, Ponyboy Curtis, along with their close friend, Johnny Cade. During this time, the three must deal with the consequences of their actions from that fateful night. Will trying to redeem themselves cost them? Will some Greasers get blinded by the violence and ultimately meet their tragic end? Will Maria be able to keep her golden heart?
