How can you have everything you could ever want, and still feel as though you have nothing? Rebel Daring, has everything any teenager would be lucky to have, she has great looks, a successful family, amazing friends, and a picture perfect future already planned out. She has everything. Yet she has nothing. Her looks aren’t cover girl worthy, more of a scene girl beautiful; earning vicious remarks, and bullying. Her parents may be successful but they are never there for her, never really cared to much about what she does or doesn’t do. Her friends are amazing yes, but only because they are in for the money that practically grows on trees for the Daring’s. A picture perfect future indeed, only not planned out for her… more like for her parents. Mom is a lawyer, and Dad is the owner of a TV show, her future is becoming a doctor, not really what she wants. Rebel can’t live her whole life living up to others expectations and pretending to be happy, she has to stand up, go her own way. Unfortunately, when she does she is not the obedient Rebel Daring everybody once saw; she is just Rebel Daring the misunderstood teenager.

(TH#5)"And maybe in the end, in spite of all we said, all we did, all we met, we are only thoughts that evaporate into the effervescent whirlwind of time." Cole Winters is a perfect example of high school done right; star quarterback, good-looking, popular, he has the whole package. Things couldn't possibly go wrong. He lives for the present with no certainty on the future or anything it holds. Grace Loving is terminally ill. She's been cancer-free, but it can't be gone forever. She knows it. Everybody knows it. And it's only a matter of time before she bites it. But to maximize her living expectancy, her parents bring her to a well-known doctor operating a hospital just outside of Heart, North Carolina, where she finds her new home and, ultimately, Cole Winters. It's not love at first sight. It's not even love at fourth sight. But as they're thrown together in odd and unsavory circumstances, it becomes a battle between love and the desire not to hurt or be hurt, and the realization that in life you cannot have one without the other.
