Is blood thicker than water?

To most people, blood is always thicker than water. The mere mention of family members in need of help makes something inside of people want to help. And to Kate, this is no exception. She has grown up more independently than most 15 year olds and has stuck by her father through thick and thin but when her dad finally goes over the edge, she is left alone and tormented by her fathers acquaintances. Her only thought now is how will she survive.
