Astrid is an undercover agent who is trying her hardest to retire. The CIA makes that impossible for her though, sending one of their top agents out to catch her. When he finally does, Hiccup takes her back to HQ where they try to convince her to go on a mission. She used to just do this stuff for the FBI, who were more than happy with the work she did, and decided she deserved a break. But the CIA is a bit more persistent. She's sworn to herself that she would never do business with them. But when they threaten her with never seeing her family again, she almost has no choice. They make the decision harder when she finds out that the target is her brother, an advanced hacker. After almost a year of isolation, Astrid agrees. Hiccup is assigned to make sure she plays by their rules and during their time together, he starts to grow unexpected feelings for her. She however, could never love someone like him...or can she? Join Hiccup and Astrid on this journey of heartbreak and betrayal, for they cannot face it alone...

Guns, revenge and buildings to bomb, what could go wrong? ✮ He came in, gun held out in front of him in one hand while the other was resting on his hip where a sharp dagger gleamed in the light. "Come on out little girl, why not make this easier for both of us. The agency you ran away from just want to have a little talk, that's all." She scoffed internally. Yeah right. Then the footsteps ceased. She peeked to the right, then to the left. Neither direction showed any sign of the intruder. She looked up in front of her and gasped, the glint of steel and smell of death as overwhelming as it was adrenaline inducing, exciting. "Boo." ✮ Murder, accidents, assassinations. Call it what you will, it's all the same, all has the same life breaking, mind shattering consequences - be it for the victim or the bystander. It had shaped Alex in a way no one should be. Broken down and rebuilt into the perfect soldier, one who had the power to change the world, to fight battles that would either make or break the carefully constructed vision we all live in. The only small, minute, really unimportant detail - it's pretty hard to get into a government classified site when you're 15 years old and have a rag-tag team of double-crossing back-stabbers behind you. Not to mention the threat of a world war and ghost hanging above your head. Armed with sarcasm, wit, and a hell of a lot of aggressive intentions, it won't be too long till a sticky situation is all that's ahead of you. Sometimes, running head-first into a situation isn't the best idea. Instead, you gotta play a game. A deadly game where either you have all the pieces on the board, or you have nothing. Haley is a young girl with an unusual gift. Some would call it a curse. Her? She calls it a convenient nuisance. Together with a dragon no one wants, a pair of wings she has no idea how got there and pretty much no past to speak of she is going on an adventure she could've never imagined. She lived a quiet, relatively ordinary life until a young boy and his unusual dragon intruded on her home. This fateful encounter would change her life forever as she discovers new friends, ["Going somewhere?" The sound of Hiccup's increasingly annoying voice asked as I was leaving. "Ugh.. yes. Away from you guys." I turned my back and continued walking.] Allies she never knew were even possible, ["And the catch?" I asked him skeptically after having heard his offer. "There's no catch. You can trust me. I just have credentials that you don't. And besides, I see potential in your future." He answered.] A love so strong nothing could break it, ["I can't help but love you, even when I try not to." I whispered to myself once I was in the air and far enough away for him to hear me.] And so much more as she embarks on an adventure with Hiccup, Toothless and all their friends. <currently editing a few mistakes here and there. I'll try and get all the updates out relatively soon one after another and won't change the story, just fixing a couple spelling mistakes here and there. All story mysteries that were confusing or went unanswered will most likely be answered in the upcoming sequel> Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters or locations other than my OC's.
