A heart that skips "a bit" by skywarrrd
29 parts Complete
Wren Zaya Miller is all discipline and quiet dreams, a girl who walks with her walls up and her heart hidden behind highlighters and top scores. Lionox Anderson is the storm she never saw coming, charming, sharp, and unpredictable in the way that makes people look twice. They weren't meant to collide. But one hallway accident changes everything. From that moment on, their worlds keep brushing together, through group projects that run too long, side-by-side study sessions that turn into something softer, and phone calls that stretch into the early hours. They don't dare define what's forming between them, but it lingers in the in-between: in lingering stares, in tension-filled teasing and in the strange comfort of always ending up in the same place. Set against the backdrop of Projects, Exams, Varsity games, and the pressure of growing up too soon, A Heart That Skips a Bit follows two teenagers trying to outrun the weight of the world and the ache of everything they can't say out loud. It's about fleeting moments, quiet understanding, and the bravery it takes to care deeply, even when you're not sure what comes next. Told in a blend of present moments and poignant flashbacks, this coming-of-age story explores what it means to succeed, to fall, and to find the courage to feel in a world that expects you to stay strong. Because sometimes, the strongest kind of love is the unspoken one, the kind you keep quiet to protect the label given and the person who means everything.

I fell for a boy with the kindest blue eyes, and a charming dimple. He made me feel loved, and cared for, and most importantly he made me feel safe in his presence. He came right in the middle of a tornadoe and managed to turn it into blue skies. He changed my perspective and gave me hope and strength." I looked at him, and he was smiling, and his eyes were a little glossy. He took my hand and kissed it, a small tear caught in the corner of his beautiful eyes. "I thought, hey, maybe life isn't so bad after all. Maybe I can finally allow myself to love and be loved, and to live life normally. When we went to your party, you told me to wait for you. But then your perverted cousin made me feel super uncomfortable, so I went looking for you, just to be able to feel at peace again. And that's when I saw it." "No matter the choices I'm given, it'll always be you, Aurie." He was her best friend, her safe place, her everything-the one person who shared the weight on her shoulders. Every laugh, every secret whispered in the night, every quiet moment that stitched to the fabric of her heart made her feel like the world belonged only to them. But then, in the blink of an eye, he chose someone else. Her world crumbles down. Unaware of the truth behind his decision, Aurora Everhart is left to face the hollow ache of losing him. But as fate pulls her between love and heartbreak, she can't shake the question that still haunts her, 'Was I ever really a choice?' "No one shielded me from the storm the way you did, Ronnie. But now you're leaving me alone with nothing to cover myself." His whole world revolved around her, his only best friend, the one person he thought he knew better than anyone else. He understood her every laugh, every whisper, every unspoken thought...but never the secret she had kept so carefully hidden from him, just as his own heart held truths he hadn't fully understood. Bounded by a promise and terrified of the truth buried deep inside that he refuses to acknowledge, he's forced to choose someone else and leave his Aurie alone in the storm. Will he ever be able to win her back, even after the choices he's made? The two promises that tore his life apart- the one that he still upholds and the other that he failed to keep- whisper words of desolation in his ear: 'I promise to keep you happy, I promise to... marry you' and 'I promise, my baby strawberry, if I'm ever lost, I'll always find my way back to you.' We often think the heart and the brain are at odds, but in their tale, we get to know that hearts themselves are their own fiercest contradictors - stubborn, unrelenting, and impossible to ignore.

Echoes of Rejection: Learning to Love Again

11 parts Ongoing

Fifty-one rejections. Fifty-one times my heart was broken, including the girl I thought I'd never stop loving. After that, I swore I'd never fall for anyone again. Love became a game I refused to play - every smile, every kind gesture from a girl felt like a trap. Years passed. College came. I buried myself in studies, friends, and distractions, building walls so high no one could reach me. Until she appeared. Aya. Gentle, patient, and fearless in ways I hadn't known existed. She didn't chase me, didn't push. She simply stayed - quietly, persistently, until I realized the walls I'd built were trembling. But trust doesn't come easy. Fear lingers. Past heartbreaks echo. Can I let myself be vulnerable again? Or will my own walls keep me from the love I've always wanted? A slow-burn story of heartbreak, self-discovery, and the courage it takes to let someone in - even when you've sworn you never will.
