When HMS Apache’s Captain is killed, a reluctant First Lieutenant must take command of the Tribal Class destroyer. Lieutenant Commander Michael Sinclair feels the weight of leadership and is painfully aware that the lives of his men depend upon his decisions. With a damaged ship and inexperienced officers, he is torn between his duty to the Royal Navy and the safety of his men as he sails to the ferocious battle for Narvik.

There is no rest for his exhausted crew as a new and deadlier mission is given by the secretive Captain Munroe.
