Nyla Porter wasn't ordinary like everyone in New York, no she had a secret, one that would make everyone feel different towards her. You see not only was Nyla magical but she was also a mermaid. Nyla hates her abusive father, he beats her and, she is tired of it. One day, while waiting for a beating, she ends up in Neverland. Now curious about this new land Nyla discovers Peter Pan and his Lost Boys, Nyla learns she is in Neverland and that she is the first ever Lost Girl. Hopefully she'll like it there.
